The kids have beenbp busy making you a holiday surprise.  They all enjoyed making a gift for you. Tuesday we will read some books about the holiday and begin our count down to the winter holiday.

The children had a lot of energy this week. We are continuing to go outside as soon as we arrive to get out some of the energy but we may need to go for a hike to make sure all the children are utilizing  their large motor skills.  As the the holidays get closer the children will have  more energy that we will have to utilize properly.

We will begin to practice pouring water after the holiday.  We have also begun to set out spreading work. We set out some graham crackers and marshmallow fluff this week.  I showed the children how to use this work.  The need to use tongs to take out one cracker , place it on the plate, and then use the small spreading knife to pick up the marshmallow spread and already it on the cracker.  Some children really enjoyed doing each step while others just wanted to eat!  We will continue to have food for the children to spread, cut or serve to the other children in the class or keep to try for themselves.

I hope you have a great Thanksgiving.

Hello parents

It's time for me to share what we have been up to in our classroom.  We have accomplished quite a bit so far this year. The children are learning the routines. They are lining up with out too many reminders, and they are helping each other to remember what to do.  I think we may have our groups complete. I am glad that even the new comers are having an easy time coming in to school. This makes the day start on a happy note.

The children really seem to enjoy going outside each day and we will continue to do so unless it is under 20 degrees outside so please dress your child appropriately. Labeling coats, hats and gloves is vey necessary. The children can leave their belongings outside or near the bathroom or in someone else's locker.  If we ask them if something belongs to them many say yes even if it's not. Diane and I sometimes have a hard time remembering who wore what to school. As the snow falls having slippers for your child to put on is very important.  This allows us to keep our floors clean since we spend so much time sitting on the floor.

I will try to share the happenings weekly from this point on please share your comments and pass on the blog information to other parents.

See you Tuesday.
